Over the past eight years, I’ve had the good fortune of traveling more than I ever thought possible. My husband and I have travelled to over 50 countries as a couple and there’s still so much world yet to see! Being frequent travellers, we’ve learned a lot about how to make travel easier and less stressful. A little preparation can go a long way toward making your travels smooth, easy, and most of all, enjoyable.

3pack-your-essentialsMy travel style
When it comes to my travel style, I’m all about Express Access. I want to check in and get through security quickly so that I can start my vacation as soon as possible! But how? First of all, I almost always travel with carry-on only. Because I don’t have to check any bags, I can check in for my flight online 24 hours in advance and print out my boarding pass. And if you’re an American Express Platinum Cardmember, you can avoid transportation and parking time by taking advantage of complimentary valet parking at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Because I print my boarding pass in advance, I don’t need to go to the check-in counter; I can head straight to security.  And while we all understand the necessity of going through security at airports, those queues can be long. But show your American Express Platinum Card and valid boarding pass and you can access the Pearson Priority Lane in Terminals 1 and 3 at Pearson, to expedite your way through security.

My American Express Platinum Card also grants me access to over 600 Priority Pass lounges around the world so it’s easy to escape the busy terminal and find a quiet sanctuary to enjoy a bite to eat and, more importantly, get my entertainment in order. Having books, music and movies when I travel is essential to me! Case in point: On the morning my husband and I were to leave on our honeymoon, my e-reader froze. Kaput. No troubleshooting tips could revive it. I went into a slight panic. Two weeks without my books? No way! I raced to the store to pick up a new e-reader and jumped on the free Wi-Fi at Pearson Airport as soon as I arrived, to download all my books. That’s how important they are to me.

American Express understands the value of books and music to travellers and the latest offering as part of their Cloud 10 program proves it. Entertainment on Cloud 10 is an innovative new concept that will make travel through Toronto’s Pearson International Airport even more enjoyable. American Express already provides free Wi-Fi access at Pearson airport (woot! woot!) and this exciting new launch means that now, everyone (even non-Cardmembers) will be able to download books and songs for free when they’re at YYZ, through a partnership with Harper Collins and Sony Music. The selection of books and music will change each month, offering travellers a steady variety. Currently available are contemporary reads like The Betrayers by David Bezmozgis and classics like The Great Gatsby as well as songs by Bruno Mars and Hozier. Free books and music?? I’m ridiculously excited! When it seems like life is just one cost on top of another, getting something really valuable, like books and music, for free – well, that’s just pretty awesome.

download-free-booksI’ve had other credit cards but none have offered travel perks like American Express. What I absolutely love about the free music and books part of the Cloud 10 experience is that it’s available to all passengers travelling through Pearson International Airport, not just Cardmembers. That’s really amazing. And if you are an American Express Cardmember, there are so many reasons to love it, especially in Toronto, from complimentary valet parking and security line by-pass to lounge access, depending on the card you’re carrying.

So the next time you’re traveling through Toronto Pearson International Airport, be sure to check out Entertainment on Cloud 10 and start your journey on the right foot, with free books and music that’ll put you in just the right mood for your trip!

Too bad it doesn’t work. All you get is a checkbox to accept the licensing agreement and nothing happens what you check it. There is no button to continue to the free downloads. Typical Canadian lack of follow through by Amex
