I just returned from a Viking River Cruise along the Danube. The seven-day Christmas market cruise took us through Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Budapest. Each market was beautifully decorated with twinkly white lights and featured row upon row of stalls with handcrafted items from local artisans. And while it got pretty chilly out there, as long as you’re dressed appropriately for the weather, you can fully enjoy yourself without worrying about the sub-zero temperatures. (And there’s also plenty of glühwein to help with that, too!)

So, if you’re headed to a cold climate this winter, don’t leave home without these cold weather travel essentials, guaranteed to keep you toasty warm.
